Our party hire tips
Party Direct offers a full range of party products and services for all kinds of events whether it's a small intimate party at home to a full blown corporate event. There's no need to phone around all different party hire companies to get what you need anymore - just make one call to Party Direct and we'll do it all! Our party planners are always on hand to guide you through all the processes of your event. Use our experience from begining to end so your party will always be a success!

Two tips for a successful party :

  1. Relax, drink a couple of glasses of wine, or do whatever relaxes you. If you are uptight, your guests will feel it and it will have an adverse effect on the party atmosphere.
  2. Arrange the furniture so that everyone is within comfortable talking distance. This will help conversation to flow freely.
"If you do these two things it will not matter what you serve, etc.,the guests will just naturally "party"!

How to throw a surprise party:

  1. Select date for party after secretly discovering whether guest of honor will be available that day.
  2. Enlist the help of an assistant to create a fake activity for your honoree to attend with him or her.
  3. Extend invitations to all guests and make very clear that party will be a surprise, whether it's a verbal, email, or formal written invitation.
  4. Let all guests who may have contact with honoree know the planned strategy for tricking guest of honor.
  5. Invite all guests to arrive 30 minutes before guest of honor.
  6. Tell guests to park out of sight, unless guest of honor believes he or she will be attending someone else's party.
  7. If possible, suggest any guests having contact with honoree casually mention they will be attending to some fictitious activity that day.
  8. Hold your breath and hope no one slips with the surprise.

Tips:

  1. Be sure that your assistant in the deception is good at keeping a secret and keeping a straight face.
  2. If guests are not capable of hiding the secret, encourage them to avoid honoree during the weeks leading up to party.

Have more fun at your own party

You tell yourself that you host a party to entertain family and friends. But deep down inside you know the real reason is because you want to have fun. Unfortunately, it's easy to get so carried away with your plans that the party ends up running you instead of the other way around. When the party's over many hosts feel exhausted and swear that they'll never do that again. Instead of looking back on a fun time, it seems like all they did was work. That wasn't the point, was it?

That's why the next time you throw a party, keep focused on the intention to have fun at your own event. If you're successful at that, chances are good that your guests will have a great time too.

How to plan parties - did you forget anything?

Are you sure you have everything you need for the party? Are you really sure? Did you write it down? I can´t stress this enough. Many a party is short or absent of something. This means embarrassment, or someone running out to the store during the party. To be sure you have not forgotten anything why not send us an email with your questions.
